호랑이와 달마 — 막(防)의 그림
이 그림은 장식이라기보다 ‘문(門)’에 가깝다.
굵은 먹선으로 그린 달마는 지팡이를 사선으로 걸쳐 들며 화면의 입구를 가로막고, 호랑이는 산신의 기운을 품은 채 낮게 웅크려 경계선을 이룬다.
둥근 광배는 도장처럼 빛나며 “여기서 더는 들지 말라”는 보이지 않는 금줄을 친다.
대나무의 마디, 물가에 퍼지는 잔물결, 달마의 눈빛까지 모두가 바깥으로 향해—다가오는 ‘액(厄)’을 향해—세워져 있다.
형식 역시 주술적이다.
단호한 먹선은 부적의 획처럼 한 번에 내려앉아 흔들림을 남기지 않고, 지팡이의 대각선과 호랑이의 곡선이 맞물려 ‘X’의 구조를 만들어 길목을 봉한다.
어둠과 빛, 비워 둔 여백과 응축된 질감의 대비는 기운의 흐름을 거슬러 세우는 장치가 된다.
보는 이가 그림 앞에 서는 순간, 달마–호랑이–관객의 시선이 하나의 수호막을 이루어 공간을 감싼다.
과거 액막이 그림이 집의 입구나 마주 보는 벽에 걸려 외부의 불길함을 맞받아치듯, 이 작품도 일상의 자리에서 작동하도록 설계되었다.
위압적이되 폭력적이지 않은 태도, 물러서지 않되 달려들지 않는 자세—그 사이에서 그림은 마음의 문턱을 지키는 수호 부적으로 기능한다.
결국 이 이미지는 한 인물의 초상이 아니라, 우리 삶에 들고나는 기운을 가다듬는 ‘막(防)의 형상’이다.

- As this is not a waterproof product, wiping with a wet tissue may cause ink to smudge. Please use a dry cloth to dust off.
- If you want front-facing prints, please fill the image up to the dotted lines. Unfilled areas will be produced in plain state.
- Due to printing characteristics, white images will not be printed.
- The actual color may vary from the model cut depending on the shooting environment.
- Due to the material and processing characteristics, there may be an error of about 1-2mm in the actual ordered size.
- To prevent damage to the frame, it will be delivered directly from the manufacturer.
- If you have purchased other items along with the frame, they will be delivered separately.

- A purchase order made by a minor may be cancelled by the same minor or his/her guardian if his/her guardian has not consented to such purchase.

All the goods are newly manufactured in custom order and delivered.
If you order now, the manufacturing process begins on 9/17, and the goods are to be shipped out before 9/24.
